OUR STORY
Where It All Began
As a young child I was in the kitchen with my Mom, and I wanted to learn EVERYTHING. (And I did!)
Soon enough I was baking things on my own, and improving recipies with little changes here and there - making them my own. Although some have always stayed the same.
Early 20's brought the start of learning bread, and by my late 20's I had sworn off buying bread at the store - and decided to do everything myself.
I won't tell you how old I am (LOL), but it's been about three years of sourdough baking now, and I have loved every minute of it. I started out baking two loaves a week just for myself (ate it every morning for breakfast), and then started making them as gifts for people.
Early this year (2023) I put a sign up in my condo building offering it to others who live there, and to my surprise I was contacted by a few who seemed really excited. Next step was posting in a local group and before I knew it I had to buy additional supplies to I could make 4 loaves per day, then 6, then 8 (it doesn't seem like much, but it is for a home bakery).
Within a couple months there were several more items that I was offering, and I had to bring in my partner Brad to help me fill the orders.
Fast forward to fall of 2023, and we were looking for retail space to open a bakery. With Brad's encouragement (I was full of self-doubt) we went for it and made it happen.
We started out in a tiny space in Willow Point in January 2024 and by August 2024 we had already outgrown the space (and encountered some issues), so we found a bigger spot in Campbellton and moved in September 2024!
We produce small batches of sourdough baked goods - working the night shift and loving every second.

GET TO KNOW US
Meet The Team
Each of these awesome (but sour) individuals are an important part of The Sourdough Whisperer team. They make me smile everyday, and I hope they make you smile too.
Jane Dough
--->
Jane was my first team member, although she is punchy - she is the glue that holds the family together. You can always count on her to be consistent, and she loves hanging out first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee.
Sir Edward
--->
Edward is a distinguished gentleman. He can be a little bit sour at times, but he is still a morning person - and absolutely loves Eggs Benny. But if he wakes up on the wrong side of the bed, jam is about all he can manage.
Chip
--->
This cute little guy has a lot of energy. He takes a while to get ready, but by the time snack time rolls around in the afternoon you can count on him to be there. Unlike other's in his class who seem to get dry and stale, he's a big softy!
Zach
--->
Zach, like the rest of the family, is a bit sour but always seems to rise to the occasion when needed. He is always well received and people enjoy brining him along to family gatherings because everyone loves him.
Frank
--->
Frank is a little bit different than your average focaccia. He comes in a few different shapes and sizes, depending on how he feels that day. He also can change his personality on a whim, which means you are never quite sure what you're going to get when you invite him over.
Chris
--->
Chis can come across a little crusty but is a sweet guy at heart. Most people enjoy him in small doses, since he is quite potent. LOL! Aside from all of those things he really adds a lot of character to a situation and is a great conversaitonalist.
Hank
--->
Hank is not a typical bun you'd run into at the grocery store. On the inside he is a big softy, and can sometimes be a little dense. As with his other family members, he's a great party guest - and he especially likes BBQs.
Polly
--->
This salty little lady stands for tradition with a bit of innovation. Although quite popular she is a simple and quiet fellow. He actually prefers to hang out on his own, but that doesn't happen often. Great to keep around to fill the void between meals - or to bring as host gifts.
Peter
--->
Peter is a little tangy, a little flaky, and a whole lot of delicious. 🥧✨ He's been carefully crafted with time and patience, resulting in a flavor that's unique and irresistible. Whether he's filled with sweet fruit or savory veggies, he always steals the show.
Brian
--->
Brian doesn't come around often, because a special set of circumstances are required for him to make an appearance.
He is FULL of flavour and makes a great coating for anything breaded, as well as topper for mac and cheese.
Hubert
--->
Hubert is a little bit bigger than your average hot dog bun, and with a lot more flavour. He's light and fluffy, with a hit of sour, and a delicious buttery exterior.
Great for classic hot dogs, smokies, and sausages from the grill.
